A Nonparametric Analysis using Conditional Quantile Processes

Abstract

|
In bioassays, new preprations are compared against standard ones by means of responses on some biological organisms. Relative potency measures provide nice interpretations and the estimation constitules the prime interest of such studies. A conditional quantile based on the k-nearest neighbor method is proposed for this purpose. In the examples, we compare carotid artery wall thickness scanned by ultrasound between hypertension patients and control patients after adjusting body mass index. We also investigate smoking effect on thickening carotid artery along with body mass index effect.
